Clinical Observation Process The clinical supervision observation process implemented will consist of five phases: Pre-conference, Observation, Analysis and Interpretation, Post-conference, and Critique. Conducting observations using each of the five phases will provide us with an area of focus during the observation. Thereafter, collectively or independently we will produce a plan for instructional improvement and then reflect on the overall observation experience. According to Glickman et al. (2013), clinical supervision is an opportunity to receive direct assistance that is focused on improving teacher instruction. The observation process is NOT based on making judgments, instead it is geared towards instructional improvement and professional growth and development.
The attached documents provided are blank forms of the pre-observation conference, post-observation conference and Newark Public Schools Mid-Year Summary Form. I also included Newark Public Schools Framework For Effective Teaching: A Guidebook for Teachers & Administrators 2014-2015.
*While the pre-observation & post-observation forms are used, they are continuously edited and changed to meet the individual needs of teachers.
